Obituary: Linda Marie Sofaly, November 21, 1949 – January 6, 2026
Linda M. Sofaly entered into eternal life on January 6, 2026, peacefully at home in Devine, Texas. She was born on November 21st, 1949 to Joseph John Stepanski and Edna Buendel and grew up in Baytown, Texas. Linda was a loving mother whose life centered around family, friends, bowling & the Dallas Cowboys. One of her most memorable traditions was having everyone come over around Thanksgiving, have a bowl of chili and watch the Dallas Cowboys game with her. Linda joined the United States Air Force in 1977, she proudly served her country, and retired in 1995. During her career in the USAF she adopted many of her “military brats,” took them in and treated them as her own. She was a fun loving soul that had a heart of gold, she always had a story to tell and a solution to anyone’s problems.
Linda is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Larry Sofaly; her sister, Agnes Sturm; and both of her parents. Linda’s memory will forever live in the hearts of her children, David Galley (Rebecca); her daughter, Marie Hepline (Clyde) along with many grandchildren; Lauren Galley, Justin Galley (Kristen), Christopher Vega, Sarah Reyes (Jacob), Jordan Johnson (Kassandra), Holly Johnson, Marie Hernandez and many great grandchildren. Linda was a friend to all, respected and loved by most. She spent a lifetime dedicated to her family, her friends, military family & bowling family. Her legacy of love, family and togetherness will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
