LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

by Annabell McNew

Dear Valued Readers,
I’m reaching out with a simple request on behalf of the Kinney County Post — if you enjoy staying connected to what’s happening in our community, please consider supporting the local newspaper by purchasing an annual subscription.
A full year is only $25, and you’ll receive weekly editions delivered directly to your email inbox. It’s an easy way to stay informed and make sure local news and local voices continue to have a place to be heard. The Kinney County Post plays a unique role in our community — sharing local stories, covering elections and meetings, publishing public notices, spotlighting our students and organizations, and helping promote the events and efforts that keep Kinney County strong. We also believe in giving back, including sponsoring local sports teams, events like Fort Clark Days, volunteering, and supporting community initiatives whenever we can.
We’re a small, hometown operation — just a two-person staff, supported by several local guest writers who help bring a wide range of perspectives and stories to the paper. Like many small businesses in our area, we depend on folks shopping locally. Advertising and subscriptions keep the paper running, printing, and publishing each week. As you can see in the clipping above, the local newspaper has been a labor of love for over a century, and several local publishers, editors, and writers have poured their heart, souls, and wallets into keeping ink on the pages, and we are better for it, but like most things - “it takes a village,” as they say.
If you’d like to support the Post, you can subscribe online. We offer a free trial, with no credit card sign up required, or you can go ahead and sign up for a year at the link below:
We also deeply appreciate direct feedback, letters to the editor, and our guest writers. Please don’t hesitate to tell us how we are doing in an email, or write a letter to be published, and if you have an idea for a new column or story, we want to hear it!
Lastly, if you’re already a subscriber, writer, advertiser or reader — thank you. Truly. Your support makes it possible for us to continue serving the community and keeping Kinney County connected.
With appreciation,
Annabell McNew
