Charles William Hall, 77, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, in his hometown of Brackettville, Texas.
Born on February 10, 1948, in Covina, California, Chuck was the son of Alvin and Gladys Hall. He was a devoted husband to Connie, his beloved wife of 56 years, and a proud father to four daughters: Kelly Hall of Austin; Kasey Haby and husband Chip of Atascosa; Karla (Charlie) Bowman and husband Terry of Uvalde; and Katie Cashion and husband Mark of Devine. Chuck found his greatest joy in family, and nothing meant more to him than watching his children and grandchildren grow. He was a proud grandfather to Tillman Haby and wife Nicole, Sarah Vollmering and husband Mason, Tanner Bowman, Trace Bowman, Nessa Delonay, Jacob Cashion and wife Michelle, and Colby Cashion and wife Bobbie. His legacy lives on through his great-grandchildren: Emily and Van Cashion; Reese, Tristan, and Riley Cashion; and baby Winslie Haby, expected in September.
He is also survived by his brother, Alvin Hall, Jr. and wife Sherry; sister-in-law, Holly Bryant and husband Danny; nephew Trey Hall and wife DeeDee; nieces Brandy Wright and Stacy Nunn and husband Johnathan; great-nieces Makayla, Makenzie, Landry, and Tayler; and great-nephew Donovan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Sr. and Gladys Hall; his grandson, Tyler William Bowman; and his niece, Samantha Hall.
Chuck was a proud graduate of Brackett High School (Class of 1966) and Sul Ross State University (Class of 1970). He returned to Brackettville to begin a 34-year teaching career that would touch hundreds of lives. "Mr. Hall" left a lasting impression on generations of young people. To many, he was far more than a teacher — he was a mentor, a role model, and a steady source of encouragement that extended well beyond the classroom.
In addition to teaching, Chuck faithfully served his community in many roles. He was a member of the Brackettville Church of Christ, where he and Connie raised their daughters in faith. He dedicated many years to the Brackettville Volunteer Fire Department and served as President of the WinterGarden Firefighters District. He also led Region VI of the Texas High School Rodeo Association as President for six years.
Following retirement from education, Chuck continued to serve his community as Justice of the Peace, a position once held by his father. He also ventured into business, founding Ace Bail Bond and Aultman-Hall Ventures. He was a 42-year member of the Las Moras Masonic Lodge #444 and served as a past Master of the lodge. Chuck also served on the Brackettville City Council, always striving to give back to the town he loved.
Chuck Hall will be remembered most for the deep and unwavering love he had for his family, his gift for never meeting a stranger, and the countless lives he touched through his compassion, wisdom, and example. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him.
Graveside services will be held at the Kinney County Cemetery on July 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at the Kinney County Community Center at 11:00 AM.
