Obituary: Betty Lou Laman Tidwell

Betty Lou Laman Tidwell, 87, of Brackettville, TX passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025. She was born on July 22, 1937 in Fort Hancock, TX to Roland and Clara Laman. Betty’s siblings were Robert Roland “Bobby” Laman Jr., Johnny Dee Laman, Bonnie Jo Jones, Patsy Ann Sprott Haller, David Lee Laman, Judy Fay Burks, and Jany Mae Hoag. She spent her childhood years in Spofford, TX and married her husband of 70 years, Marcus, who she loved dearly, on Aug. 8, 1954. She deeply loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and she was a loving mother to Cheryl Juhasz, Mark Tidwell, and Joy Yracheta, who Marcus and her raised to love the Lord as well. Betty was also grandmother to 11; and great-grandmother to 30. Betty loved her plants and spent many hours tending to them. She was known for a keen sense of humor and a love for storytelling that she shared with Marcus and their family. She will be dearly missed, but fondly remembered during a Celebration of Life at the Brackettville Church of Christ to be held 11 a.m. on June 18, 2025.
