by Annabell McNew

Fort Clark Arts is hosting an exciting opportunity to hear from visiting artist Homero Binuelo Bautista this weekend as a part of Fort Clark Days. Bautista is making a stop in Kinney County following a photo exhibition at Falcon Art Gallery in Del Rio Texas, along with internationally acclaimed artist, Adrian Jesus Falcon.
At 11am on Saturday at the Fort Clark Arts Studio, photographer and visual narrator Homero Binuelo Bautista will present a fascinating lecture in his native language with a translator, taking the room on a journey through “Miradas del Valle.” Originally from the community of Pueblo Nuevo Ixmiquilpan, Bautista will share his experience as an indigenous artist capturing moments in communities and how photography can be a tool to tell the unique and valuable stories of a place and time. Following the presentation, Homero Binuelo Bautista will guide a photographic walk starting at 12:45pm, beginning at the FCA Studio. Both opportunities are free and open to the public. Anyone with questions or interest in the walk is encouraged to contact Elizabeth Hodges at 830-563-7483 in advance.
