Volunteer Spotlight: Mary Ann & Rick Oliver

by Annabell McNew

FCS Community Council has had $3000 earmarked for repairs on the bathrooms in the Adult Center for some time now. However, as additional repairs are needed and broader discussions are being had about the future use and needs of the historic building, FCS Community Council decided to redirect those funds to a more immediate use. The concession area in the Post Theater has been in desperate need of attention. A rotten cabinet, leaky plumbing and mold had taken over a corner, and as Fort Clark Days approaches and hope for more frequent use of the theater grows, Mary Ann and Rick Oliver offered to provide some excellent volunteer work. They have scraped, cleaned, prepped, painted and restored the area, with great attention to detail and quality, putting the earmarked funds to good use, just in time!
On Friday, March 7, 2025 a free showing of “Vengeance Valley” a 1951 western starring Burt Lancaster will be shown at 7:00 pm at the Historic Post Theatre. Admission is FREE and there will be a concession stand where attendees can purchase snacks and drinks. Proceeds will support next year’s Fort Clark Days event!
