A gifted artist, Bob found particular joy in photography, using his creative eye to capture the beauty of the world around him.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Bob had a heart for helping others. He was a Texas-licensed drug and alcohol counselor who willingly offered guidance and support to those who came to him for help. His compassion and desire to serve others were evident throughout his life, particularly in his dedication to his church and community.
As a member of First United Methodist Church in Brackettville, Bob and his wife served as outreach ministers, putting their faith into action by caring for those in need. Through his leadership and partnership with the Methodist Church, the H.O.P.E. Center was built and developed to provide assistance to the most vulnerable members of the community. Bob also worked alongside visiting mission teams to help repair homes throughout Brackettville and the surrounding communities, helping provide families with safer and better living conditions.
Bob's commitment to service extended well beyond the church. He served as a Boy Scout leader, president of Friends of the Library, and a member of the Kinney County Historical Commission. He volunteered at Fort Clark, served as president of the Architectural Committee, and contributed his time and talents to various activities promoting Fort Clark Days. He also brought smiles to many during Frontier Christmas, where he suited up as Pancho Claus for several years. Although medical challenges eventually limited his volunteer activities, his years of service left a meaningful mark on the community he loved.
