Frontier Christmas hopes to raise $10,000 for community Christmas tree
The Kinney County Frontier Christmas Committee is hoping to add a new centerpiece to the community’s holiday celebration this year: an 18-foot Christmas tree to be displayed outside Bank & Trust in Brackettville.
The committee has launched a fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $10,000 to cover the purchase, delivery and installation of the large community tree.
Organizers hope the tree will become more than a decoration for this year’s Frontier Christmas festivities, serving as a community Christmas tradition that can return for years to come.
“As we get ready for this year’s Kinney County Frontier Christmas event, we are looking to make our community celebration brighter than ever,” committee member Janine DeHoyos said in an appeal to local businesses. The committee is reaching out to businesses, organizations and community supporters to help reach the $10,000 goal. Frontier Christmas brings together holiday activities and events throughout Kinney County, and organizers envision the new tree as a central visual feature of the celebration in downtown Brackettville.
Businesses and individuals interested in contributing or learning more about the fundraiser can contact the Kinney County Frontier Christmas Committee at kcfrontierchristmas@gmail.com or 830-563-0048. Additional information about this year’s Frontier Christmas festivities will be announced as the holiday season approaches.
A healthy Kinney County requires great community news.
