SCAM ALERT: Kinney County Sheriff’s Office Email Hacked

The Kinney County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents that its official email account has been hacked.

Sheriff Brad Coe confirmed the issue and said county computer technicians are working to address it.

If you receive an email from kcsheriff@co.kinney.tx.us, DO NOT open links, download attachments, or open any files contained in the message — even though the email may appear to come from the Sheriff’s Office.

If you have already downloaded a file, do not open it. Consider contacting your IT provider or a computer security professional if necessary.

Please share this warning with others in the community who may have received an email from the Sheriff’s Office.
