Good News — The Kinney County Post Is Moving to Fridays
In the almost-words of Annie: “The Post’ll come out tomorrow!”
So if you were expecting your Kinney County Post today, hang on ’til tomorrow — Friday is our new publication day. It's only a day away.
THURSDAY IS OLD NEWS. FRIDAY IS COMING!
If you went looking for The Kinney County Post today, don’t worry — your paper is coming. Beginning Friday, August 21, The Kinney County Post is moving to Fridays.
As part of a change in our printing operations, we are transitioning to a new printer. That change also requires us to move our publication and distribution day from Thursday to Friday. And there’s an added benefit to the change: a Friday publication gives our newsroom a little more time each week to cover the local meetings and events happening right here in Kinney County. That extra time can help us bring you more timely coverage of city, county, school and community meetings from the same week they happen.

New day. Same local paper, with a little more time to cover our community.
We think Friday is a pretty good day for news. As you head into the weekend, you’ll have your local news, sports, upcoming events, community announcements and the stories of the people and places that make Kinney County home.
And while we’re making a change, we’d like to ask something of you. Help us make your local newspaper better.
A community newspaper should be just that — a newspaper of the community. We can't be everywhere, and some of the best stories in the Kinney County Post begin when someone in Kinney County takes the time to tell us what is happening.

Local journalism matters because communities need a place where their own stories are recorded and shared — from decisions made by local government and schools to Friday-night sports, births and obituaries, new businesses, celebrations, disagreements, milestones and the ordinary happenings that become our community's history.
Strong local news helps neighbors know what is happening around them, connects people to one another and provides the information residents need to participate in their community. It also helps keep the work of local institutions in public view. But a truly local newspaper isn't something a newsroom creates by itself.
You are part of it.
Every subscription helps. Every advertisement helps. Every announcement, photograph, Letter to the Editor, event notice and story tip helps us produce a newspaper that actually reflects the people who live here. At a time when communities across the country are losing their local newspapers, we're grateful that Kinney County still has one of its own. We want to keep strengthening it, and we hope you'll help us do that.
So tomorrow, look for the First Friday Edition of The Kinney County Post.
And from here on out:
Thursday is old news. Thank goodness it’s Friday.
